Vemdalen Villas is a master plan and design of 38 semi-detached holiday homes set on a mountainside site in Vemdalen, Sweden. With direct access to the slopes and overlooking the beautiful Valley, each plot accommodates a main house and a guest house. Their relation to each other and their neighbours have been designed to form smaller outdoor spaces and trekking paths in between the buildings to give the area a character more reminiscent of a village than a street.

Each house is constructed by a prefabricated timber frame which is clad in a pine facade and covered by an overhanging metal roof. In the main façade, large windows overlook the valley and form a symmetry that seeks to unify the two houses to read as one singular building.

The plan of the main house consists of two levels and has been designed to give each room its own quality. The private spaces are spread out in the plan to maximise privacy while the shared spaces are set in the centre to encourage as many social overlaps as possible. To connect the building's experience on the inside to its appearance on the outside the timber panels of the facade extend into the interior’s walls and ceiling.
